Hootsuite alternative

For the owner, not the social team. Priced for the whole business.

People look for a Hootsuite alternative when $99 per user a month, billed yearly, is more than a growing business needs, or when a renewal or a refund goes wrong.

Buzzmark is priced for the business, from $29 a month. It writes posts in the voice it reads from your website and plans them into your best times.

If a social team needs listening, message routing and approvals, or customer care runs through social messages and WhatsApp, Hootsuite is the better tool.

Why people look for a Hootsuite alternative

From Hootsuite's own pages and from public reviews, put in our words and read on October 25, 2026. Each reason links to where we saw it.

Hootsuite's Trustpilot reviews come mostly from people who left; the reviews syndicated from G2 come mostly from teams still using it, and are much warmer. Each reason says which one it rests on.

  1. Billing at renewal

On Trustpilot, Hootsuite averages 1.3 stars from 556 reviews. About half of the 60 recent ones we read describe a charge after cancelling, a renewal nobody expected or a refund that didn't come. Its own FAQ says the trial doesn't charge on its own, so these are about paid plans.

  2. $99 a seat, paid by the year

Standard is $99 per user a month, billed yearly, with 10 social accounts. Each teammate needs a seat of their own, and no monthly price is published.

  3. Accounts that disconnect

Accounts dropping, video uploads failing and errors on posts that did go out come up in about 17 of those 60 Trustpilot reviews and 3 of 10 recent G2 reviews. It's the one complaint both sites share.

  4. The useful parts sit higher up

Approvals are on Advanced, at up to $399 per user a month. Inbox automation starts on Professional, at $199.

What to look for in a replacement

Whatever you move to, check these before you leave Hootsuite. They follow from the reasons above.

  • A price for the business, not per person

Count who actually posts. If it's you and one other, a per-seat suite charges for a team you don't have.

  • Renewal and cancelling in plain words

Before a yearly plan, check when it renews, how to cancel and what a refund looks like.

  • Connections that hold, and a word when they don't

Ask how the tool finds out a post failed, and whether it tells you before your customers notice.

  • The features you'd use, on the plan you'd buy

Read the plan you'd pay for, not the top of the pricing page.

Where Buzzmark fits

  • Priced for the business

Growth is $29 a month for the business, month to month, or $24 a month paid yearly. Reach runs 3 brands on 20 channels for $49.

  • Your voice from your website

Hootsuite's brand voice works from one profile's past posts. Buzzmark reads your website and products, so the voice holds for a brand that has hardly posted.

  • Every draft is checked

Each Buzz gets a Hive check, a score from 0 to 100 for how much it sounds like you, and phrasing that gives machine-written text away is rewritten before you see it.

  • Told when a post fails

Each Buzz shows what every platform did with it. A post that fails can be retried or rescheduled from the post itself, and an email can tell you when it happens.

Where it doesn't, yet

  • Social listening. Scout reads your competitors and your field's news for ideas, but doesn't track mentions of your brand.
  • Messages and WhatsApp in the inbox. It has comments from Instagram, Facebook, Threads and LinkedIn.
  • Seats and approvals. They're coming soon: 5 seats on Reach and unlimited on Scale. Today an account is one person.
  • YouTube, Pinterest and Bluesky. Buzzmark doesn't post there yet.

Moving from Hootsuite, network by network

Hootsuite's networks, sorted by what happens to each when you move. There's nothing to export: you sign in to each account in Buzzmark, and posts already scheduled in Hootsuite stay there to go out as planned.

Your first day

  1. Paste your website

The Hive reads it and brings back your tone, the words you use and your products. You correct anything it read wrong.

  2. Connect your accounts

Sign in to each one. A social set keeps a brand's accounts, voice and clock together.

  3. Plan the first week

Buzz drafts the week into your best times. Nothing goes out until you schedule it.

  4. Check your renewal date

Hootsuite bills by the year. Note when yours renews, and cancel before that date if you're moving.

When to stay with Hootsuite

The same list as on our comparison. If one of these is you, Hootsuite is the better tool for now.

  • A social team of several people needs approvals, message routing and governance.
  • Customer care runs on social messages, WhatsApp and reviews, at volume.
  • You need brand listening and competitor intelligence with sentiment.
  • The company can pay $99 to $399 per seat and wants enterprise security.
