Mixpost alternative

Posts in your voice, and no server to keep running.

People look for a Mixpost alternative when running it themselves turns into server work, when a network's change breaks publishing until the next fix, or when a licence paid once stops getting updates after a year.

Buzzmark is hosted only, from $29 a month. It reads your voice from your website, scores every draft from 0 to 100 and tells you when a post doesn't go out.

If you want the software and your posts on your own server, or an agency needs client workspaces and approvals today, Mixpost is the better tool.

Why people look for a Mixpost alternative

From Mixpost's own pages and from public reviews, put in our words and read on November 5, 2026. Each reason links to where we saw it.

Mixpost has no reviews on Trustpilot, G2, Capterra or Product Hunt, and its Hacker News posts drew no comments, so these reasons come from its own pages and its GitHub issues.

  1. A server to keep running

Mixpost's docs ask for PHP, MySQL, Redis, a queue supervisor and a job every minute, even for one person, plus a developer app of your own for each network, Meta's app review included. Four GitHub issues opened in 2026 are about Docker images or upgrades that failed.

  2. Network changes that break publishing

GitHub issues opened in 2026 cover Instagram publishing, Facebook insights, Bluesky, and posts that went out to only some of their accounts.

  3. Security fixes are yours to apply

Three security reports were opened on GitHub in 2026, two of them still open when we read them. When you host it, applying each fix is your job.

  4. Updates for a year

Pro and Enterprise come with a year of updates; after that you stay on the version you bought unless you renew. On Cloud, the inbox is still Coming soon on Business and Agency.

What to look for in a replacement

Whatever you move to, check these before you leave Mixpost. They follow from the reasons above.

  • Nothing to maintain

Updates, security fixes and network changes should be the tool's job. Count the hours hosting takes you today and price those too.

  • Fixes that reach you on their own

When a network changes its rules, ask who fixes it and how soon the fix is live for you.

  • A voice it keeps learning

Filling in a brand voice form once is a start. Ask whether the tool learns from what you publish and what you change.

  • The price over two years

Add a licence, its renewals and your server, and set that against a monthly plan.

Where Buzzmark fits

  • Nothing to host

Buzzmark is a hosted product. Network connections, updates and security fixes are ours to run, and you sign in from any browser.

  • Told when a post fails

Each Buzz shows what every platform did with it. A post that fails can be retried or rescheduled from the post itself, and an email can tell you when it happens.

  • A voice that keeps learning

Buzzmark reads your website, as Mixpost's form can, then suggests what to learn from the posts you publish and the edits you make to its drafts. You decide what it keeps.

  • Every draft is checked

Each Buzz gets a Hive check, a score from 0 to 100 for how much it sounds like you, and phrasing that gives machine-written text away is rewritten before you see it.

Where it doesn't, yet

  • Open source and self-hosting. Buzzmark is hosted only.
  • YouTube, Pinterest, Bluesky, Mastodon and Pixelfed. Buzzmark doesn't post there yet; Google Business and Reddit are coming soon.
  • Seats and approvals. They're coming soon: 5 seats on Reach and unlimited on Scale. Today an account is one person.
  • An API. It's coming soon, on every plan. AI apps such as Claude and ChatGPT connect today, through MCP.

Moving from Mixpost, network by network

Mixpost's networks, sorted by what happens to each when you move. There's nothing to export: you sign in to each account in Buzzmark, and posts already scheduled in Mixpost stay there to go out as planned.

Your first day

  1. Paste your website

The Hive reads it and brings back your tone, the words you use and your products. You correct anything it read wrong.

  2. Connect your accounts

Sign in to each one. A social set keeps a brand's accounts, voice and clock together.

  3. Plan the first week

Buzz drafts the week into your best times. Nothing goes out until you schedule it.

  4. Export before you switch the server off

Let the posts already scheduled in Mixpost go out, and export anything you want to keep: it lives on your server, not ours.

When to stay with Mixpost

The same list as on our comparison. If one of these is you, Mixpost is the better tool for now.

  • You want the software on your own server, with every post kept there.
  • You'd rather pay once than every month, and someone on your team runs servers.
  • An agency needs client workspaces and approvals today.
  • You want to pick, or run, the AI model yourself.
  • You need YouTube, Pinterest or Mastodon today.
