Buffer alternative

Posts written in your voice, at one price for five channels.

People look for a Buffer alternative when posts fail or channels disconnect, when the price per channel adds up, or when some posts arrive as a phone reminder to finish by hand.

Buzzmark writes each post in the voice it reads from your website, scores every draft from 0 to 100 and tells you when a post doesn't go out. Growth is $29 a month for 5 channels.

If you run one to four channels and write your own posts, want a free plan, or need Pinterest, YouTube or Mastodon, Buffer is the better tool.

Why people look for a Buffer alternative

From Buffer's own pages and from public reviews, put in our words and read on November 5, 2026. Each reason links to where we saw it.

  1. Posts that fail, channels that disconnect

Buffer scores 4.3 on Trustpilot from 153 reviews. About 13 of its 62 one- and two-star reviews describe failed or missed posts, and about 5 a channel that dropped. On Capterra, most of the 120 reviews that mention technical disruptions are negative about them.

  2. A price per channel

Paid plans are charged per channel, $6 a month each on Essentials and $12 on Team, and the free plan stops at 10 scheduled posts per channel. About 12 low reviews on Trustpilot and 4 on G2 are about cost or billing, charges after cancelling among them.

  3. Some posts are only a reminder

On Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and Facebook Groups, some posts go out as a phone notification that you finish in the app yourself. A few low reviews mention it, along with polls and tags Buffer can't post.

  4. AI you steer by hand

Buffer's AI assistant makes a post more casual or more formal when you ask. Its page doesn't say it learns how your business sounds.

What to look for in a replacement

Whatever you move to, check these before you leave Buffer. They follow from the reasons above.

  • Posts that go out, and a word when they don't

Ask how the tool finds out a post failed, whether it tells you, and whether you can try again from the post.

  • A price for the channels you'll have

Price the channels you'll run next year, not only today's.

  • Publishing done for you

Check which formats the tool posts itself and which it hands back to your phone.

  • AI that knows the business

Ask what the AI reads first: your website, your products, your past posts. A tone picker still leaves the voice to you.

Where Buzzmark fits

  • Told when a post fails

Each Buzz shows what every platform did with it. A post that fails can be retried or rescheduled from the post itself, and an email can tell you when it happens.

  • One price for five channels

Growth covers 5 channels for $29 a month, with 75 Buzz written for you and 20 AI pictures. Five channels on Buffer Essentials are $30.

  • Your voice from your website

Buzzmark reads your site and brings back your tone, the words you use and your products, then suggests what to learn from the posts you publish and the edits you make.

  • Every draft is checked

Each Buzz gets a Hive check, a score from 0 to 100 for how much it sounds like you, and phrasing that gives machine-written text away is rewritten before you see it.

Where it doesn't, yet

  • A free plan. Buzzmark starts at $29 a month on Growth, after 7 days free for new users.
  • Pinterest, YouTube, Bluesky, Mastodon and Substack Notes. Buzzmark doesn't post there yet; Google Business and Reddit are coming soon.
  • Seats and approvals. They're coming soon: 5 seats on Reach and unlimited on Scale. Today an account is one person.
  • An API. It's coming soon, on every plan. AI apps such as Claude and ChatGPT connect today, through MCP.

Moving from Buffer, network by network

Your first day

  1. Paste your website

The Hive reads it and brings back your tone, the words you use and your products. You correct anything it read wrong.

  2. Connect your accounts

Sign in to each one. A social set keeps a brand's accounts, voice and clock together.

  3. Plan the first week

Buzz drafts the week into your best times. Nothing goes out until you schedule it.

  4. Count your channels

Buffer bills each channel. Buzzmark's Growth covers 5 and Reach 20 across 3 brands, so check which plan your channels land on before you move.

When to stay with Buffer

The same list as on our comparison. If one of these is you, Buffer is the better tool for now.

  • You run one to four channels and want the lowest bill, or a free plan.
  • You write your own posts and want AI kept optional.
  • You need Pinterest, YouTube, Mastodon or Bluesky today.
  • A team needs unlimited seats and approvals today.
